What is Campus Compass?

Campus Compass was built on a simple belief: when young people understand their unique strengths, values, and interests, they become their own compass.

Rooted in strengths-based development and grounded in the Niagara Region, Campus Compass guides students, families, and early career professionals through some of life's most important decisions — from choosing a post-secondary pathway to landing a first job, advancing a career, or taking the leap into post-graduate study.

We meet every client exactly where they are. Whether you're a student in Grade 10 just beginning to explore your options, a first-year student rethinking your program, a recent graduate navigating the job market, or a professional considering a return to school — Campus Compass offers personalized, one-on-one support designed around you.

Our services are delivered virtually, which means students and families from across Ontario — and beyond — can access the same thoughtful, expert guidance regardless of where they call home.

Clarity, confidence, and purpose. That's what we're here to help you find.

Your guide to what comes next

Helping students and early career professionals find their path with clarity, confidence, and a plan.

Kara Renaud is a Career Development Practitioner and Post-Secondary Pathways Consultant with over 25 years of experience working with students, early talent, and the people who support them.

Through Campus Compass, her Niagara-based consulting practice, Kara offers one-on-one coaching, workshops, and self-directed resources for students in Grades 10–12, first-year post-secondary students, and early career professionals navigating their next big step.

Kara has spent over two decades working inside post-secondary institutions — universities, colleges, and private career colleges — leading teams, building programs, and supporting students through some of their most important transitions. That insider experience is what sets Campus Compass apart: she doesn't just know the pathways, she knows how the system works.

She holds a Master of Education in Administration & Leadership (Brock University), a Career Development Practitioner Certificate (Conestoga College), and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (McMaster University).

Kara brings a strengths-based, all-pathways perspective to every conversation. Whether a student is headed to university, college, the skilled trades, or isn't sure yet, she meets them exactly where they are. No judgment. No one-size-fits-all advice. Just real conversations about real possibilities.

When she's not guiding students and early career professionals through big decisions, you might find her in the kitchen — Kara is the home baker behind Kara's Cookies (@kara.cookies26).
